We care about your land and your property. That is why with every listing on Rentahunt, our landowners are covered with our insurance policy for eligible liability events. Even better, there is no cost to you. We carry a blanket liability insurance policy, endorsed by the NRA, that covers our landowners for eligible occurrences up to $1,000,000 in coverage. The policy is backed by IAT and is endorsed by the NRA. For specific questions about our policy or to see our proof of insurance, please contact us.
It's another great benefit of using Rentahunt! While using Rentahunt, you can sleep well at night!
We require that you own the land or have permission from the landowner to list their land on their behalf. The land also needs to be located in a legal hunting area. When you create a listing you will need to fill out the basic information on the land. No lodging accommodations are currently allowed through Rentahunt - our website is only intended for facilitating daily hunting land rentals. Currently, we are only accepting land listings in Wisconsin but we will be expanding to other states soon!
We are happy to get a listing up for you! We can even manage the availability and pricing for you. If you are interested in listing with us, but don't feel comfortable submitting your own listing or managing the availability and pricing, leave it to us. Once everything is set, all you need to do is reply ‘yes‘ to the booking request emails you will receive once a hunter books your land. It's that easy.
Our site is an open marketplace and the daily rental price of the land is set by Landowners based on the demand, time of year, and quality of potential game on the land. Please feel free to search listings around your area to compare and determine a reasonable rate for your land. Our site allows you to set a base price for the land during normal demand but also allows you to increase the price during high demand seasons. If you need help with this process, please feel free to contact us at support@rentahunt.com and we can help you through the process.
Control who is on your land: Rentahunt allows you to manage and control who is going on your land. In the old days, you may have let a hunter on your land but over time they let their friends hunt with them as well. Rentahunt allows you to know who is on your land and gives you full control.
Secure Payment: Either automated or we send you a check. You no longer have to track down your hunter in person.
Manage your availability: Rentahunt allows you to set which dates you want your property to be available for hunting and which dates you don’t.
Make more money: Rentahunt allows you to open up your land to a bigger audience, helping you make more money.
That depends where your land is located and what time of year. You have the flexibility to set the daily price and change it for different times of year. For example, coyote season in mid-winter may go for as little as $15 dollars a day, but opening day deer season in a prime area may go for a couple hundred dollars a day. This will really depend on where you land is located, what habitat features your land has, and what time of year it is. We are happy to help assist you in determining your daily rental price and feel free to call us to help walk you through it.
When you create a listing, we send you a weatherproof Rentahunt sign in the mail. Once you receive the sign, post the sign on your property where you want the hunters to park. When you create your listing, you will give a brief description of where the Rentahunt sign will be located. This allows hunters to know that they are in the right place, and also allows you to control where they park and know when someone is on your land.
No one can see your property address or boundaries until they have actually booked your land. They will then receive an email with your address and contact information once payment has been made.
This is completely up to you and your preferences - Rentahunt is able to accommodate either option. Everything is automated and there is no need to meet the hunter if you do not want to. However, if you would like to meet them in person prior to the hunt, you can require that.
When you approve a booking, a hunter pays a daily fee for a license agreement to hunt on your land for just that day. In no way are you giving them a leasehold interest. It is purely a license agreement for them to be on your land for a specific time for the specific act of hunting.
When a hunter signs up on the website they agree to abide by a user agreement and agree to follow the rules and policies of any landowner’s listing. They also are stating that they have a valid hunting license. If you have a bad experience with a hunter, simply let us know and we will flag that hunter in the system. After a certain number of flags, the hunter will be removed from our website. You also have the ability to approve or deny each individual booking. So the next time that hunter requests a booking, you can deny that hunter if you wish.
When a booking occurs and as soon as the hunter makes a payment, the booking revenue will instantly be sent to your PayPal account, less Rentahunt's fee for providing the service. PayPal is a secure platform for online payment and payment is immediate so there is no delay in receiving your earnings. Creating a PayPal account allows you to collect and receive payments from the hunter. If you don't already have a PayPal account, you can easily create one by clicking here. Alternatively, if you prefer to not use PayPal, we can arrange to have earnings checks snail-mailed to you.
We only charge our members when a transaction occurs and do not charge a monthly membership fee or any other recurring fees. When a hunter makes a reservation, they will pay the rental fee as well as a booking fee and any applicable taxes for the transaction. Immediately after the hunter pays, the landowner will receive the rental fee less a booking fee and any applicable PayPal fees. Typically, the landowner booking fee is roughly 15% of the listing price. When you get a booking, you can expect to receive about 85% of the rental fee to be sent to your account. This fee is to help cover the costs of operating our website. All fees are subject to change at Rentahunt's sole discretion.
Depending on your location, we may be required to charge and collect sales tax on the transaction. This varies widely based on your location. Currently we are only accepting listings for land located in Wisconsin. Depending on your level of use on the site, Rentahunt, Inc. may request tax related information and may contact you regarding tax related information. We advise you to consult your tax adviser regarding any income or expenses related to your interactions on www.rentahunt.com.
